Welcome to Summer Blues.

Hello and thanks for stopping by. My name is Natasa Bozic Grojic and I am a teacher of English as a foreign language from Belgrade, Serbia. If you are an EFL teacher like me, you might want to visit my other blog. There I write about TEFL and technology.

In my free time I am a bit of a poet. Even as a little girl I had an obsessive need to tell and retell stories. Back then, I used to make up fairy tales with my father. I don't know how old I was when I started writing poetry. I wrote poetry, on and off, for most of my life. I burned most of it because I was never happy with my poems. Those which passed my initial censorship ended up in a drawer. Then the drawer was upgraded to a computer file. Apart from the members of my close family and a couple of chosen friends, no one ever saw my poems.

When I got interested in digital storytelling, I started publishing my poems in my TEFL blog from time to time. I experimented with different digital tools - Prezi, Animoto, Glogster... At first shyly, I started sharing what used to sit hidden in my computer files for years. And people liked it. Quite a few encouraged me to continue publishing them.

Writing is my hobby. It is more than that - it is a passion. This is the day of the amateur. You don't have to be Mozart or Shakespeare to get heard these days. That's why I have decided to start this blog. If you like poetry, have a look. If you like what you see, come and visit again. From time to time I will be experimenting with different digital storytelling tools and ways they can be used to present poetry. I don't promise to post regularly (I have never been a regular blogger), but I'll get here as often as I can.

You might be wondering why I named my blog Summer Blues. Well, the name somehow sounded right.

Your comments are always welcome.

  2. Dear Janet,
Thank you for discovering my new blog. You are the first person to leave a comment here:)
My poem-burning days are over. What I have promised to do here (tell my poems by experimenting with different digital storytelling tools) is very time-consuming, which is why I have managed to post only three times.
I have just come back from the spa. I had a lovely time, they pampered and spoiled me and my batteries are fully charged.
